I have to say, I was not expecting to like Stranger than Fiction, at least not as much as I did.
Yeah, I know, it was Kaufman-lite for a broader audience, but then it was redeemed by having the depth of characters that you don’t see in other “meta” movies.
And it was quite funny. Some of the one-liners were pretty good:
- “Yes. I am relieved to know that I am not a Golem.”
- “That answer is inextricably contingent upon the type of life being led… and, of course, the quality of the pancakes.”
- “You’re never too old to go to Space Camp, dude.”
- “Unfortunately, this guitar said, ‘When I get back to Georgia, that woman gonna feel my pain.’”
- “I can’t die right now. This is really bad timing.”
There were others I can’t remember. It’s more difficult to transcribe when laughing.
And seeing “Buster” laughing at the end over a Space Camp brochure made me really miss Arrested.
