I just got back from a monster day of apartment hunting, and I’m beat. It had a pleasant, relaxing ending, though, and it was very productive, so it’s all good.

This is actually pretty incredible: Anti-choice demonstrator clones hate abortion, but think punishment isn’t… what? necessary?
And referring the question to the “better informed” demonstration leader? Classic.
Well, I’m apartment hunting.
It’s good news— it means I can get out of my sublet soon. The bad news is that I have about three weeks until I have to leave, so availability is a little scarce. Still, I used Philly Apartment Co. (which has gotten er… mixed reviews, but has worked well for me) and found a bunch of listings.
I originally wasn’t thinking about Northern Liberties (the ones along 5th St. to the north), but the lofts are so nice, and so cheap. It would just be a new area, and a longer commute (more on that tomorrow, hopefully). There are also a few places in Old City, which would be fun. The stuff in Midtown seems to be either crazy expensive or dingy, but I’ll visit a couple.
So there will hopefully be good news — on the career and housing fronts — coming later this week. Sooner, obviously, would be better than later…
Update:
I was looking at “NoLibs” (a BE friend of mine lives there now; that’s what it’s called, apparently) on satellite, and it struck me— it’s so green! And according to her, it’s a very fun, young, up-and-coming sort of place. Combined with low rent and beautiful lofts, I’m definitely going to give this place a hard look.
I finally got around to watching last week’s hilarious episode of Flight of the Conchords.
A great heterosexual male love song, David Bowie in various forms, and (!) John Hodgman!
You should be watching this show. Ask me… er… how to catch up on episodes.
I uploaded two photo albums from this week:
This one (Beach 2007), which contains everything not in…
This one (Hang gliding at the beach)
My dad took most of these. I think I specifically pointed out the ones that I took, especially the ones I took at 5:45 in the morning.
Update:
Added a few this morning (~7:00). Check out the last few if you happened to look at them between midnight and now.
So.. I’ve been sort of lazy about sorting through pictures from this week to share, mostly because I haven’t taken very many of them.
But this morning was the exception, when I woke up at 5 a.m. and couldn’t get back to sleep, so I took a walk down to the beach:
I did go hang-gliding yesterday, so I will share pictures of that soon.
This article, “15 Simpsons Moments That Perfectly Captured Their Eras”, reminded me of a great Simpsons quote, which I will reproduce here for no reason, other than that it made me giggle:
“Abortions for all!”
“Boo!”
“Very well, no abortions for anyone!”
“Boo!”
“Abortions for some, miniature American flags for others!”
“Yay!”
The article is quite good too. Man, I miss The Simpsons of olde…
And while you’re there, you might as well check for any number of other random threats. ‘Cause that’s what Jesus would do.
Dude… Some great Dudes in history.
If it’s the slowest-growing religion in the world, preaching non-preachiness, maybe this is one I can get behind. Or perhaps I’m too high-strung….
