Tuesday TV talk

Ooh, spooky. This is entry number 666, and occurring on Halloween, no less.

I have to say, I really enjoyed last night’s premiere of Nip/Tuck.

I’d been cooling off to it, especially last season, where the drama just kept. dragging. it. down. But last night’s episode was — dare I say — fun. Reminds me of the early days. And I love the meta-ness of Sean and Christian acting as technical advisers on a plastic surgery drama. And I do like seeing Sean happy. Makes me think that nice guys don’t always finish last.

Also last night, an episode of House. I’ve really been enjoying this season— I think it’s the shakeup of losing his Baker Street Irregulars. Some of the formulaity — which I like, mind you — is gone. And I do like a lot of his new recruits, especially Thirteen and Kal Penn and the idealistic guy. The guest star was really good, I thought— got the point across without overdoing it.

And on that note, I noticed something last night…

So they pretty well established that Kal Penn’s character is a masochist. Fun, right? And Kal Penn is perhaps best known for playing Kumar. Well remember that episode with the masochistic guy with the jaw osteomyelitis? (You know, with his dominatrix was always at his bedside?) The episode that hinged on the Tic-Tacs? He was played by John Cho— Harold! Harold and Kumar are both on the “M” side of S&M.

I was so proud of myself for noticing that.
