Right. So I kinda forgot about this place, I guess. Or maybe it hasn’t been that long. Who can tell.
Between actual human contact (I know!) and my Twitter (follow me!), I guess I’ve had ample outlet for my standard musing and content-sharing. Plus, I’ve been on the road (24th – 29th in Northern VA) without a laptop, which hinders aimless internetting.
But since you’re reading this, I do hope you had a happy/merry whatever (yes, I’m a heathen). I for one realized that four days is just about my limit with the extended family. Nothing against them, of course; just too many people for introverted ol’ me to handle for an extended length of time. Also, I got a stye my last few days there. Other than that, a good time. The parents gave me an external flash which I supplemented with a StoFen; hopefully that’ll improve my photo output.
(Side note: my dad got my mom a ridiculously complicated coffee/espresso maker… one endorsed by Roger Federer. Weird. Maybe he, like the coffee maker, is a robot too.
Now that I’m back, I ordered a bit of a late holiday/early birthday present for myself. Truthfully, I’d been looking for an excuse, and getting Wall-E on Blu-Ray proved enough. Yeah, I got a PS3.
The actual unit is smaller than what I remember from my college roommate’s; it fits nicely next to my receiver. Wall-E sounded great (despite my only running two speakers) and looked incredible at full 1080p. Rock Band is coming tomorrow. My only concern (don’t laugh) is that I’ll get caught up in some game and won’t have time for my standard complement of infotainment — Countdown, Rachel, Daily Show, and the like — and that I’ll lose track of the wider world. But I guess there are worse concerns to have.
